How To Make Olive Garden Spaghetti
Olive Garden is one of my favorite restaurants and I love to recreate their
dishes at home and this recipe for their Meat Sauce is spot on! It's rich,
thick and meaty perfection!
While I'm typically an
alfredo
girl – there's something about a big bowl of meaty spaghetti sauce and
you'll be shocked at how easy this was to make! Next time though – I'm
adding mushrooms. 🙂
I had dinner all laid out and man I'm not sure who was drooling more – me or
the dogs!!?!! Salad, fresh Romano cheese to grate on top – a little sprig of
fresh basil and a big bowl of spaghetti – I was ready!
How to make Copycat Olive Garden Meat Sauce
I was a bit shocked at how easy this was to make! A friend of mine that
is a complete snob (but I adore) was shocked at the quality ingredients –
so get ready for deliciousness! First you saute the holy trinity of
celery, onion and carrot – always a good start. Here's the funny story for
the post – I didn't have any carrot – so I dug in my freezer for a bag of
frozen stir fry veggies and picked out the carrots! Then I diced them and
it worked great!
Once veggies are sauteed, you add in your meat – half a pound each of
ground beef and Italian sausage. After the meats are browned – you'll add
red wine – this is really important to build that flavor profile you love
at Olive Garden. Here's the thing – I BARELY drink – so for this I bought
mini-bottles of red wine. They have about a cup each in them so it's
perfect for a recipe like this copycat version of the Olive Garden
Spaghetti Meat Sauce.
After the wine reduces a bit – toss in crushed tomatoes and spices and
cook it down for about an hour. You'll get a big pot of warm and rich meat
sauce – perfect for a big bowl of pasta – or in a dish like lasagna!
You'll love it!
Does Olive Garden Meat Sauce Have Pork?
Yes – Olive Garden's meat sauce has Italian Sausage which is a pork
product.
Does Olive Garden Meat Sauce Have Dairy?
Nope – There's no dairy products in Olive Garden's meat sauce.
Is Olive Garden Meat Sauce Gluten Free?
Maybe? Here's the thing- most of the ingredients are gluten free –
the sausage is what can trip you up. There are certain brands of
Italian sausage that are gluten-free. So if that's a thing for you –
just be sure to use gluten-free sausage.
What to serve with Olive Garden Meat Sauce?
OMG – this is so easy – of course you're going to make the
classic Olive Garden salad
when you have their pasta dishes! You can also use this Copycat Meat Sauce
in
their Stuffed Shells recipe
– I used the marinara but it would be delicious with the meat sauce as a
base as well! I also love making
cheesy garlic bread Texas Toast
anytime I have Italian food – and it's super easy to make in the air
fryer!
